2006-2007 David Bevan conducted a tree and ground flora survey of the whole wood together with a full species list. Recorded a total of 225 species which included 38 which are considered to be indicators of Ancient Woodland (AWIS).

Subsequently David Bevan has also monitored growth in four coppices cut in the wood between 1992 and 2013, recording further important species: Botanic Survey of Coppiced Areas ( 2016)
In April 2022 a number of walks were held in the wood and a list was made of the species observed.
